Systems come in different sizes: from small ones, to fit in a palm computer (like a fax / email server), to huge systems distributed over several continents (like a distributed data center).

Looking for a solution for a problem, sometimes you need to wonder whether the requirements cover the full scale of the deployments, i.e:

Will the solution be deployed is unusually small scales?

Will the solution be deployed in very large scales?

Why English? The background and the reasoning Print E-mail

I have several languages in my head:
  • I was born in Argentina and Spanish is the language I used for communicating with my family.
  • I immigrated to Israel and since I'm communicating with the rest of the world in Hebrew.
  • I studied programming in English since I was 12 years old.
  • I work in System Engineering in a multi national company, where the formal language is English.

This blog is about System Engineering and other technical stuff, so it was obvious to me that I should write in English.

This post is really about a way of thinking: of taking facts, analyzing, deducing and coming to a conclusion. The conclusion may become an action, depending on the situation.

For me, writing in English is the way for expressing the ideas and communicating with people outside of my direct professional contacts.

Logo story Print E-mail

I'm now designing the logo, based on a logo I found in this site http://www.openclipart.org/

The original logo looks like this:

logo-red

I didn't like the red, I believe its too harsh to be in a technical site. I wanted it to be blue.

Using Photoshop I changed the channels, to be bluish.

This is the intermediate result

logo-blue

Meanwhile I decided to update the overall look of the site.

The original color scheme was based on a template provided in the basic installation, and I didn't like it.

Looking at a this site http://www.joomla24.com/ offering free Joomla templates, I found out this template redevo blue.

What was left was matching the colors, so the logo will match the template.

The end result it this:

logo-blue-final

This logo represents the way I try to think...

Open up circles, till you cant any more. Then you need to rethink you strategy and see how to move the limits, or how to change the center and how to break out

My goal in life is push my limits; these limits are the one who really hinder us. And when you push your limits, then you can see how much you can expand your capabilities

This logo represents me: concentric circles, moving away from the center, till you push  the limits and expand your universe.

How flexible and how quick you want it? Print E-mail

When I’m approached by a problem, I ask a fixed set of questions in order to identify the exact problem. One of the most important questions is the flexibility vs. speed of implementation.
